Hilljacked Chapter 1
by Testcase
"I know this isn't your normal area of concentration Wonder Woman" the man in the suit said trying not to stare at the vision of loveliness in front of him, "But we have not been able to stem the flow of drugs and illegal alcohol from that area. And even worse, we have lost a pair of field agents who went in trying to find the source."
Wonder Woman looked at the Treasury Department Agent sizing him up before she answered. "So Agent Jones your revenuers have failed to even get close to this operation in West Virginia?"
"Yes ma'am" he answered with a faint southern drawl. "That is supposing the two missing operatives did not before they disappeared. Unfortunately they failed to report their whereabouts, and when we noted they were missing we searched their motel rooms. Someone had beaten us to them and there was no clue of where they may have gone."
"Is it possible they were bought off and just disappeared?" Wonder Woman asked.
"I do not believe they would do that, at least not Agent Ann Ryan" the Revenuer replied, "She worked pretty damn hard to get where she was just to abandon her principles. "
"She?" Diana asked.
"Yes, Agent Ryan was our youngest female operative ever" Jones informed her. "But she was already a veteran of the armed forces, a trained sniper believe it or not, the only female to ever graduate that school." He showed Diana a picture of a very striking blond young woman, obviously very fit and conveying a sense of seriousness and purpose in her lovely features.
The fact a female Agent was involved peaked Princess Diana/Wonder Woman's interest. She had been laboring in a man's world as Diana Prince for a long time; she understood some of the obstacles a driven woman like this Agent Ryan would have encountered. Letting this clearly exemplary female's disappearance go uninvestigated was unimaginable! And to allow some incompetent males to bungle the investigation would make it even worse!
"Very well!" Wonder Woman declared, "I will look into this matter, but I need Diana Prince to be sworn in as a special Agent to aid with this investigation!"
"Well, the chief won't like it, but I will get him to go along" Agent Jones agreed. "I suppose you need someone to do some of the leg work without drawing too much attention!" He was thinking to himself, "If this Diana Prince has legs like this Amazon bitch, good luck with the whole not drawing attention thing! I will insist on sending an experienced field agent along as well!"
"Very well, I will have Diana report to you this afternoon!" Wonder Woman proclaimed, "We do not want any harm to befall this young Agent! We must get to work immediately!"
Agent Jones didn't miss the fact the Red, Blue and Gold clad heroine never even mentioned Agent Ryan's partner, Mike Smith.
With little to go on evidence wise, Diana Prince checked into the very rustic Mountain View Motel in very, very rural Big Mountain West Virginia late that night, the same motel the missing Agents had used. She was accompanied by Agent Halle Barry of the Treasury Department and the drive out was enjoyable as they got to know each other.
The fat desk clerk, who was missing most of his teeth, brazenly, leered at the Amazon who was wearing a sharp business suit. Diana wished she had chosen a longer skirt and looser blouse, but resisted the urge to smack the filthy t shirt clad redneck asked in a clearly suggestive manner, "Is there anything else I can do for you Ma'am?" as she took the key. "Would you like a drink/"
"I think not!" she sniffed, her sensibility deeply offended.
"Just offering" the redneck said in a deep accent, "Trying to be neighborly!"
"Thank you all the same" Diana answered, "I will have to pass."
"Suit yourself, this here is some of the best shine on the planet!" the greasy clerk proclaimed as he took a swallow from a mason jar. "Damn smooth, no car radiator used to make this stuff!"
"ILLEGAL MOONSHINE!" Diana thought instantly, just the clue she might need to get this investigation rolling! She pulled Hallea side and suggested she go to her room and let the Amazon ply her feminine wiles on this hillbilly! It was obvious he was smitten with her looks, by the expression on his face. Then she sidled up to the clerk. "Well since you put it that way, I had to send my friend away, she doesn't approve of my drinking, and sometimes I get carried away. She is kind of shy around strangers…" Diana replied coyly as she knew how. "May I try a sample?" The lumbering redneck surprised at her accepting his offer gladly handed her the jar. She sniffed gingerly but no foul odor rose from the clear liquid.
"It ain't much for sniffing, it's for drinkin!" the clerk encouraged.
Since she could think of no way to avoid it she tried a sip. "HADES FIRE!" she exclaimed as the burning liquid scalded her throat. Then she realized her mistake and added, "That is smooth! Do you have any for sale?"
"No ma'am" the bumpkin who was a bit smarter than he looked added, "That would be illegal! But try another sip, the second always goes down a bit smoother…"
Diana played along, "Sure" she said as she took another drink, and true to the hillbillies word it was better. "I would really like to get more of this, we don't have anything as good where I come from" she purred, trying to get information from the clerk. "Surely a big guy like you would know where I could get some to take home with me? By the way, what's your name?"
"Earl Ray Dobbs ma'am, what is yours?" he asked.
"Diana Prince, I am an antique buyer from, uh Washington DC" she lied. She stuck out her hand for him to shake.
He wiped his greasy paw on his shirt before he took it "Well MS Prince, have another swaller and tell me what kind of antiques your lookin fer, I might knows somebody with some! Hell I knows everybody in these here parts!"
He pointed to a table in the Motel's lobby with a couple chairs, "Sit down right there MS Prince and let me get you something to go with that Shine!"
"No please, I need to be on my way" she pleaded.
"No, now I insist, let me rustle you up some grub, have you eaten yet?" the rube inquired. "I can flat guarantee you won't get a decent meal anywhere else this time of night around here!"
Diana realized she had not eaten since breakfast and she was indeed hungry. "Please, if it is no problem, I would like some supper, and maybe some to take back to my friend?"
"You got it ma'am" Earl exclaimed, "Please sit and make yourself comfortable, I'll just be a minute, I have some fried Chicken you are gonna love!"
She started to protest that she didn't eat fried food, or even meat very often, but the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen overcame her misgivings. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all! She sat back and relaxed, even taking a few sips of the illegal brew as she waited to be served thinking, this is how it should be, a man waiting on a woman!
Back in the kitchen Earl started the chicken then a blender to cover his voice, "hey Billy Bob, I gots me another en up here! Yep, I think she is an Agent too! And get this; she is even prettier than the last one! I wouldn't shit you; you're my cousin, and half brother! No, she is sitting in the lobby sippin shine and waiting on me to fix her meal, get some of the boys up here pronto! Also, there is the prettiest little darky in room 110 that came with her, probably better get her too!"
After smelling the chicken frying when Earl brought it out with sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and some greens Diana eagerly dug in, she was starving. She looked up at Earl just kind of staring at her and asked, "Is there something wrong?"
"Oh no ma'am, its just we don't get pretty woman up here all that often!" he stammered shyly. "I apologize if I made you uncomfortable!"
"No, you didn't." Diana offered, "Please, pull up that chair and talk with me. Who has the best antiques around and where can I get some more of this delicious beverage?"
"Well that corn liquor is a secret recipe of the area" Earl explained, "If it got out there would be a feud for sure over it!"
"Well we wouldn't want that now would we?' Diana purred. "How much of this stuff do you produce?"
"I can't rightly say fer sure, but I have a new batch in the back room, would you like to try it?' Earl offered.
Diana couldn't believe her luck; this rube was obviously smitten with her and would end up leading her to the masterminds behind the drug and alcohol ring hidden in these hills.
The hulking redneck came back with another jar of clear liquid and offered it to Diana, "Try thisin and see if you like it as much!" He poured her a large glass as he spoke
"Mr. Dobbs that is far too much!" the Amazon in disguise admonished her host.
"Well it will help you relax after a long day!" Earl exclaimed cheerfully, and you don't have to drive anywhere! Enjoy, let cher hair down as we say in these parts!"
She took another drink from the second jar and proclaimed it as good as the first, "Well Mr. Dobbs, I need to be turning in, thank you for a wonderful meal and some truly interesting conversation, but I really need to get some rest, I have to start early in the morning!"
"Please Ms. Prince; call me Earl, Mr. Dobbs is my daddy! And ifin there is anything I can do you just holler! Enjoy your stay on the mountain!"
"Thank you again Mr.… I mean Earl" Diana answered sweetly, "We will talk again, you never did tell me where to find those antiques, or where to get more of this wonderful, uh "corn" you called it!"
"Just a precaution ma'am, don't ask around about the shine much" Earl advised, "It puts people off around here."
Diana rose to go her room, and wobbled slightly on her tall high heels. She had drunk wine of course as an Amazon, but she was not a drinker by any stretch of the imagination and she had no idea of the power of good moonshine whiskey.
"Are you OK?" Earl asked kindly. "Let me carry your bags for you, you look a might wobbly and there ain't much flat ground around here, you could fall pretty easily!"
Mentally Diana chided herself for imbibing too much, but it had been a long day and Earl, although a bit grotesque had been a wonderful host. "T...thank you kind Sir! You are a gentleman in bib overalls!" Diana exclaimed a bit slurred. Her body felt oddly disjointed and unresponsive, had she been a bit more worldly she might of realized she was in trouble.
"Well time to get you to bed!" Earl proclaimed as he picked up her bag and offered his arm for her to steady herself.
"Well aren't you quit the gallant knight Sir!" Diana laughed as she accepted his arm and they proceeded out the door towards her room, a portal that was about to change her world forever!
