(Note: This story is more or less based on the Kryptonian Supergirl Kara Zor-el
of the 1980s, who was killed off by D.C. Comics; many of the other characters
are from that era as well, but there are some 'current' characters/events and
new characters. Hope this mishmash isn't too confusing.)
The sound of Wonder Woman's boot toe tapping impatiently on the tiled floor in the Justice League headquarters is a sign of her rising concern about a friend. "Kara said she'd see me today!" the Princess of Themyscira snarls at the three men sitting nearby.
"It's just a little after noon, Princess, maybe she was delayed in traffic," the Flash kids, hoping to defuse the Amazon's emotioins.
"I'm sure she's just fine, Diana," Batman says in a comforting and deep baritone. "She's got the powers and brains to get out of any trouble ..."
"Hey, are we talking about the same Supergirl?" Flash interrupts, "cute little blond Kryptonian? In death traps every other week?"
"You're not helping, Flash," Green Lanterns says in a low, threatening voice. "Can't you see that Diana's genuinely concerned?"
"Missing an appointment is just not like her," the strikingly-beautiful woman continues. "She said she had something to do and would meet me here this morning!"
"Well, I'm sure she'll turn up sooner or later, Diana," Green Lantern says, rising from his chair. He moves close to the Amazon and wraps his arms around the woman in a friendly hug. They air kiss each other and Lantern releases the tall dark-haired woman. "I have to leave - I've been called off-world to a meeting of other Lanterns. I should be back in a week or so. If she's not back by then, I'll help you look for Supergirl, Diana."
"Thanks, GL," the Amazon says, putting a hand on his strong shoulder. "Thanks."
"She's been gone for three days, Batman!" the Princess of Paradise Island rages. "No word, not even any reported sightings of her! It's time to act. Especially since Superman is still busy in Dallas.* I've tried to talk with him but all he says is 'Not now, Diana, I'll get back to you when I get a chance'. Humph!"
"Where do you think she is? Who do you think she saw last?"
"I suspect she's at LexCorp, Batman, or they had some part in her disappearance," Diana explains. "She said Luthor had her costume and someone there was helping her retrieve it. I'm sure she went to her contact and fell afoul of Luthor! Remember how they brainwashed the poor girl into thinking she had to destroy the Justice League?*"
"Well, we have no solid proof or evidence, nor has Luthor committed a crime, so I don't see how ..."
"I'll fly there and use my magic lasso to find out what he knows!" Diana resolves. She rises from her seat and turns toward the door when Batman's gloved hand drops onto her bare shoulder. The Gotham Knight squeezes and pulls the woman to a stop.
"You can't do that, Diana," he says sadly. "We don't know that Lex is involved and the law won't allow you to use the lasso on anyone without a good reason. Using it violates a person's rights and the rules of evidence. We really don't have a reason to use it here, I'm afraid."
"Well, we can at least ASK him about the costume Kara says he has, can't we?"
"Sure, but I doubt he would have it on display in his office! Even Lex isn't that vain. And what's with this sudden concern for Supergirl?" Batman asks. "You barely tolerated her before she disappeared. What's changed?"
"She's become ... very close to me, Batman, and I'm concerned about her. It's hard to explain."
"Not to me," Batman thinks. "Another woman is notched up on Supergirl's bedpost, I'll bet."
An hour later, the amazing Amazon and the Dark Knight arrive at LexCorp headquarters in the famous Batmobile. The pair leave the car and Diana wraps an arm around the man's waist, then leaps into the air. Seconds later they land on the small balcony outside Luthor's plush offices at the top of LexCorp Towers. Batman raps insistently on the window until Lex rises from his desk and comes over to open the French door.
"If you're selling Girl Scout cookies, I'll take some of the mint ones," Luthor says in a very droll voice after he opens the door. "If you're Jehovah's Witnesses, I'm not interested." His aide Mercy Graves is seated in the office and she laughs at his jest while the two crimefighters stare grimly at the reputed super-criminal.
"We're conducting an investigation, Lex," Batman says, pushing against the tall bald man left shoulder to get him out of the doorway. At first, Luthor doesn't budge, then Diana presses a hand against the man's right shoulder, and Lex backs into his office, allowing the duo to enter.
"Perhaps we can ask you about the sniper you had out on your balcony the other day, Luthor!* ..." Diana says, then suddenly stops talking for a heartbeat.
"Hera help me, you DO have Supergirl's costume!" Wonder Woman gasps at the sight of the familiar blue, red and yellow costume sitting inside a glass display case along one wall. The large case has two glass doors. It sits over a long credenza with some small Japanese bonsai plants in a long planter on top. The dirt in the planter is landscaped to look like a rolling countryside. Inside the display case is what appears to be Supergirl's costume - her skirt, tunic, boots, cape and belt, neatly arrayed like some trophy.
Wonder Woman rushes to the case and as she's about to touch it, Graves says, "I wouldn't touch that, if I were you. Lex doesn't like people touching his property."
Diana looks at the buxom Graves. The short-haired blonde is wearing a gray leather vest, gray chaps, a red bra and panties, and red boots. "Including you?" Wonder Woman asks tartly.
"Suit yourself, sweetie," Graves says as the Amazon reaches toward the case. Suddenly there is a spark of electricity as her fingers wrap around the latch and Wonder Woman begins to jump and shake as electric current pours through her right hand and into her fabulous body. As Batman's partner suffers from the electrical shock, he pulls a batarang from his utility belt and tosses it so that it's trailing wire wraps around the woman's thin waist. He then yanks backward on the thin high-test line and the heroine's body flies away from the display case.
Diana lands on her star-spangled butt, shuddering from the powerful electrical current. "What's the game, Luthor?" Batman hisses at the bald man as the Amazon convulses on the floor, shaking from the trap she walked into.
Completely unflustered, Luthor looks at the heroine, then at the Caped Crusader and says, "I don't like thieves or people who try to handle my precious possessions, detective."
"That looks a lot
"Ridiculous," Luthor snorts. "That is the costume Helen Slater wore in that wretched Supergirl movie back in the eighties. I paid a lot for it and I don't want it exposed to the air. I certainly don't want it torn or man-, or woman-handled."
Batman crosses the office to the display case, pulls a metal cylinder from a utility belt pouch, and telescopes it open. He then looks through the scope and the display case's glass at the costume. Seconds later, he pulls a flashlight from another pouch to continue his investigation. The whole time, Wonder Woman keeps her eyes on Luthor and his comely aide. Batman finally turns around and says, "This costume is made of Earth fabrics. It isn't Supergirl's costume, Diana."
"IT MUST BE!" the princess blurts out. "She said ..."
"If you two don't mind leaving, I have a lot of work to do," Luthor says, returning to sit behind his desk. "Mercy, show them to the elevator or toss them off the balcony or whatever." He looks down on his desk and begins to rustle papers, oblivious to the two crimefighters. Mercy rises from her seat and approaches the duo but before anything is said or done, Batman grabs the Amazon by one bicep and ushers her out onto the balcony. She looks at him with confusion and grief in her eyes, then wraps her arm around his waist. The pair leap into the air and begin to gently float down to the pavement below where they get back into the Batmobile.
"I know she's been in there, Batman!" Diana blurts out, a tear in one eye. "I'm sure Luthor knows something!"
"Maybe, but we have no grounds to investigate him. His story checks out - the costume isn't Kara's but it is a well-made copy. He's within his rights to own that and to not answer any questions from us where no crime has been committed and, at this point, no crime HAS been committed. She's missing, and this isn't the first time she's disappeared for days at a time. We'll have to think of something else, Diana."
"Superman isn't returning my calls," Wonder Woman tells the Flash and Batman a few days later. "And GL is late in returning from space. I think it's time we searched LexCorp Towers for Kara, but how can we search the towers without either Superman's x-ray vision or Lantern's ring?"
"You need to get yourself a superheroine-sniffin' bloodhound, Diana," Flash jokes, "one that can find Supergirl wherever she's hiding!"
Batman starts to scold the Scarlet Speedster, opens his mouth, then abruptly freezes. He closes his mouth and concentrates instead. Suddenly he pounds a gloved fist into his palm. "That's it!" he shouts. "SHE can find Kara!"
"What?" "Who?"
"A few weeks ago, Britannia, the English sorceress appeared here in League HQ looking for Kara._ She just materialized in the air. She told us later that she's attuned to Kara - to Kara and maybe to me, too, I think._ If we can find her, Britannia might be able to locate Kara using her magic skills!"
"Do you know where we might find this woman?"
"Uh, no, not exactly, Diana," Batman says sheepishly. "I think I used to know - I MUST have known, but now I'm not sure any more. Somewhere in southern England, I think. I've tried several times to find her but I have problems remembering where she lives." Batman doesn't tell the assembled heroes that he is in love with the witch. He doesn't know that she put a spell on him to make him love her, then decided he was no longer needed and wiped from his mind how to contact her (but not the compulsion to make love to her).* He's been tormented ever since with the desire to see and make love to the woman but he's unable to recall where she lives.
"Find a cauldron and you'll find a witch," Flash says in jest.
"Not a cauldron, but a magic circle might do as well. What about Stonehenge or one of the other magic circles in southern England?" Hawkman asks.
"Magic circle? Are those like crop circles?" Flash says, only half in jest.
"Let's take my jet, Batman, it's a bit faster than yours," the Amazon says, ignoring the juvenile humor of the Scarlet Speedster..
"A bit! That is a bit of understatement, lady!" Batman replies as the two leap to their feet. As they leave the League meeting room, Batman turns back to Flash and Hawkman and says, "Hold down the fort, guys. We'll keep in touch with you."
"Well, we're here at Stonehenge, Batman, any ideas how to find Britannia?" Wonder Woman asks the Dark Knight. They are a surprising sight to the many visitors to the pre-Roman site. Batman walks around the center of the ring, looking at the tall stones standing in a rough ring. He wracks his brain but nothing stands out, nothing looks familiar from his past visits with Britannia.
"I ... I don't know, Diana," he finally says, turning back to the statuesque brunette. "Now I'm not even sure that this is the place to contact Britannia." He starts to sit on one of the fallen stones when Wonder Woman grabs his glove-clad hand and pulls him to his feet at the center of the ring.
"Let's see if I can help you," she says, smiling at the man. She removes the Golden Lasso from a loop on her Golden Girdle, makes a loop and drops it around Batman's shoulders. "Think about contacting Britannia, Batman."
Several frustrating minutes later, Batman still can't recall how he contacted Britannia. Diana decides to change her approach with the man. "Think back to your flight here with Supergirl when you two were asked to help her. Think back to your flight to England with her. Describe to me what she and you did that time. How did Supergirl contact Britannia?"
Batman's eyes glaze over and the ensorcelled lariat cuts into areas of his brain which the English Enchantress had neglected to erase. As if in a fog, the Dark Knight slowly recalls his flight across the Atlantic, wrapped in Supergirl's cape. He doesn't know where they landed but he recalls being unwrapped. They were standing atop a stone crosspiece like the ones at Stonehenge. There were civilians down below them, looking up at them. It was near dusk, and they disappeared from the stone less than a minute after they arrived. He briefly recalls that Supergirl took her cape off his body, they were standing atop a stone and she said the witch's name, then they were ... somewhere else?
Wonder Woman wraps an arm around the man's waist. "Let's get up on one of the lintel stones and try calling for the woman, see if anything works or gives you ideas from that vantage point." The Amazon leaps into the air, pulling Batman with her, and they gently alight on one of the cross-pieces.
"Is Supergirl going to die down there, Lex?" the stunning beauty known as Mercy Graves asks her boss, crime king Lex Luthor. Mercy is careful to control her voice lest she give her boss the wrong impression about how she feels about the Maid of Might. That could be fatal! They're in his office high atop LexCorp Towers. A few days ago, Lex sealed Supergirl inside a lead box at the bottom of an elevator shaft. She was unconscious - Luthor had once put a hypnotic suggestion in her mind, using Wonder Woman's Golden Lasso, that if he tapped her forehead, she would lose consciousness until he kissed her.*
"I neither know nor care about that little blond bitch, Mercy," Luthor snarls at his aide. "I told you a few days ago that whether she lives or dies doesn't matter, as long as she isn't interfering in my plans any more. I would think that, sealed in that lead box as she is, cut off from air and yellow sunlight, her super body should eventually begin to die."
"A shame," Mercy says in a soft voice, recalling the fun she had humiliating and sexually tormenting the Girl of Steel, as well as having sex with the heroine. "A shame."
Wonder Woman and Batman tried calling Britannia from several of the lintel stones. Finally, on the last stone, after Diana calls for the witch, both Leaguers vanish ...
... and reappear ... elsewhere. Inside Britannia's lair, a magic-created artificial construct outside time and space. She's made it look like an English peasant's cottage from hundreds of years ago, but with no windows or doors. One rough-hewn plaster and wood wall holds a series of shelves heavily laden with books, scrolls, and arcane odds and ends. Tables or other furniture, also piled high with books and scrolls and who knows what other stuff line the other three walls of the room. A large fireplace in the center of one wall has a roaring fire going quite nicely, causing shadows on the walls to dance merrily and making the room seem incredibly warm and hospitable.
A huge stuffed chair sits in the middle of the room on a large rug, flanked by small tables on either side. The English Enchantress, Britannia, stands before the chair awaiting the arrival of her unsummoned guests. Britannia is a buff, busty raven-haired beauty of 5'10" or 11" who seems to be around 25 years old . Her skin-tight white unitard seems ready to burst its seams from well-defined muscles in her legs and arms and her six-pack abs. The British flag hanging sideways and forming the front of her costume seems to be badly warped by her 38C breasts. The duo can't help but stare at the lovely vision as the witch stands before them, tapping the tip of one of her black knee-high buccaneer boots on the cottage floor. Her hood and cloak cover the top part of her body so that only her chin is visible. Her famous "Isle Sceptre" (a magic wand) is held tightly in her right hand. White, above-the-elbow leather gloves cover both of her hands. Her left hand points the index and little finger at the duo, with her thumb sticking out sideways, ready to launch a mystical attack at these "intruders".
"Batman! What are you doing here? I thought a woman ... this woman ... summoned me for help?" Britannia is somewhat angry with herself - she blocked Batman from ever summoning her, but here he is. The woman with him apparently has a powerful magical aura that completely dwarfs Batman's spectral image.
"Yes, Britannia, I did summon you," Diana says, "but I needed Batman's help to find you. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Diana, Princess of Themyscira, also known as Wonder Woman in the patriarch's world."
"I'm delighted to meet you, I think," the English Enchantress says, "but how could the Batman lead you to me? I put a spell on him ..."
"WHAT?" Batman gasps, trying to get into the conversation. So that's why he's had problems finding Britannia.
"And I used my magic lasso to make him recall what Kara ... Supergirl ... did to find you," Wonder Woman explains. As she talks, Britannia slowly moves closer to the two heroes but lowers her sceptre and left hand. Apparently she won't turn them into pigs at this moment. "I used Batman to find you because Supergirl has disappeared and he said you have some kind of link to her. I hoped that you might be able to help us find her."
"Of course I can help, Diana," the witch says slowly, "but I sense that you have a strong link with Kara, a link almost as strong as mine. Much stronger than Batman's links with you, Kara or me."
"What do you mean?" Batman asks.
"Oh, do be silent, Man!" Britannia says in an imperiouos voice, aiming her sceptre at Batman's forehead. The Dark Knight suddenly falls as his knees buckle beneath him. Before his unconscious body hits the floor, it floats up and backward to land on an overstuffed chair that suddenly materializes against a far wall. Britannia looks away from Wonder Woman for only a second but when she turns back to face the Amazon, the Golden Lasso suddenly drops around her shoulders.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?" the Amazon princess demands.
"Oooohhhh, I ... unh ... n-nnooo! This ... unh ... cannot be ... I," Britannia stammers, wrestling against the compelling magic of the Lasso of Obedience. She shakes and struggles within the lasso, trying to free herself, but she cannot. Her gloved hands grasp the loop around her shoulders but she's unable to pull the loop away from her body. Her eyes unfocus and she finally replies, "I put a sleep spell on him - he is unhurt. How are you doing this to me?"
"My gods are old and powerful," Wonder Woman explains, "and this lasso is one of their gifts to me. You are compelled to tell me the truth and obey my commands. Also, you must not remove my lasso."
Britannia shudders - she strongly dislikes being controlled by anyone, but she can't resist the magicks in the Golden Lasso. She listens as her voice says, "Yes, mistress." Inwardly, she is repulsed by this subservience. And she feels weak when she thinks about removing the lasso. She does NOT like this! It reminds her too much of the time that the Native American shaman, Swift Bear, controlled her and Supergirl through totem magic.*
"I'll need you to awaken Batman," Wonder Woman says, "but first, tell me about the spell you put on him."
Britannia finds herself unable to resist the brunette's order. She explains how the spell on Batman works and why she put it on him. At the same time, she slowly brings up one hand and forms her fingers into a hex-casting trident. Even such a simple act requires intense concentration and effort to circumvent the sorcerous lariat. And the more effort she spends moving her hand, the more aroused she becomes at the Amazon's magical abilities. She's also amazed that she can move at all.
After explaining how the spell works, and before Wonder Woman can make another order, Britannia mumbles some ancient and arcane words and suddenly the powerful Amazon's arms fall to her sides and her eyes glaze over. "I too can use sorcery to make a slave, my proud princess," Britannia says triumphantly. Diana still holds the lasso but can't move or speak under the influence of the spell cast by the English Enchantress.
"NOOOOO!" the proud Amazon roars in her mind, "I ... must ... fight ... this!" A low hum fills the small room as the mighty heroine begins to struggle against Britannia's spell. She tries to speak and she tries to move her arms and legs but meets the resistance of unseen restraints. As Diana uses her strength, a gift from the gods, against Britannia's magic, the woman's body vibrates so fast it emits a subsonic hum. Moisture on the Amazon's skin, on her lips, begins to smoke as it's heated by her vibrations and turned to steam. The vibrations have ... other ... effects on the Princess of Power. First her nipples begin to harden as her vibrations abrade them against the soft fabric of her bustier. In seconds, her rosy nubbins are as hard as rocks and ache to be fondled or squeezed. Then, to her horror, Diana feels her clit beginning to swell and press against the taut fabric of her star-spangled shorts. A heartbeat later, she adds a low and powerful moan to the sounds in the cottage as her clit shocks her system. Now she is really turned on - unable to free herself but in desperate need of sexual release. The tension is excruciating for Wonder Woman.
Meanwhile, Britannia finds that she still can't remove the Golden Lasso from around her shoulders. Every time her glove-clad hands try to lift the lasso, her strength fails completely and they fall down to her sides. "Well, we're not going to get anything done. Our powers are too evenly matched," the sorceress finally says. "I release you." and suddenly Diana stops vibrating. Her body visibly softens as she goes limp, her muscles exhausted from the extreme use to which they were put. She's also extremely wet between her legs from the powerful arousal she inflicted upon herself.
"If you will remove this amazing rope of yours, Diana of Themsycira, I will lift the spells I've placed on the Batman," Britannia says.
Wonder Woman struggles to regain her composure. A few seconds later she slides down from her orgasmic high and she again seems tall and invincible as her body un-relaxes. She smiles at the witch and then slowly lifts the Golden Lasso off her shoulders. "We are both well-matched," Diana says, "but I will bind you again if you do not release my friend. We need to work together, sister, if we are to locate and perhaps even save Supergirl from whatever trap now has her."
"I have lived a long time," Britannia says after the rope is removed. She steps close to the Amazon and puts a white-gloved hand on the heroine's bare shoulder. "You are the first woman who has had the power to control me and my magicks. You are truly amazing, sister, and I'd like to get to know you better. You are the first of your kind I've met."
Britannia's touch is like an electric shock to the still-aroused Amazon. She stops coiling her lasso and looks into the witch's green eyes, barely visible inside her hooded cloak. Britannia's lips part slightly and her tongue slips out to moisten those deep-red lips, giving them a slight shine in the cottage's lights. "Are you using your magicks on me?" Wonder Woman asks softly in a weak voice, unable to take her eyes off Britannia.
"No, sister, I'm not," the Enchantress replies, smiling demurely. Sensing an opportunity she never had with Supergirl, Britannia moves closer to Diana and wraps her arms around the tall Amazon, one around her waist, pinning her left arm to her side, the other around her shoulders. Again Diana shudders from the contact, and also gasps loudly when one of Britannia's hands reaches the small of her back, just above her star-spangled shorts. Then the witch pulls the Amazon close and their bodies crush against each other, an effect that makes both women moan from the feeling.
Diana responds by wrapping her arms around Britannia and uses one hand, on the back of the woman's head, to pull her deep-red lips closer. Diana parts her own ruby lips and tentatively flickers her tongue against the Englishwoman's lips. She immediately feels the woman's tongue - it has slithered out of the witch's mouth to spar with the Amazon. Again the two mighty women moan deeply and crush their bodies closer together as their libidos surge with arousal. The small cottage fills with the sounds of hands crushing fabric and women moaning in arousal.
As the two women kiss, Diana struggles in her mind with her feelings. How can this Englishwoman arouse such powerful feelings of attraction. Diana has never rejected women, or men, from her bed. On Themyscira, most of her lovers were other women. But she thought she might be attracted to Supergirl. The more Britannia's hands drag across her body, though, the more the Amazon wants to take, and be taken by, this incredible woman. For several long moments, the two mighty heroines embrace, running their hands over each other's body, increasing their arousal. Their little cries of pleasure increase in frequency and volume as their hands continue to explore each other's body.
Britannia finally breaks free of the sensuous embrace. "Come with me, darling," the witch says, grasping one of Diana's hands. The English Enchantress walks backward and leads the Amazon toward one wall of the small living room and suddenly a bookshelf morphs into a door, an open door, beyond which lies a large bed. Diana stops and pulls Britannia to a stop as well. The Englishwoman smiles warmly at the woman, then leans close to kiss her lips lightly. "Come, my love," the witch says, smiling at her new friend. Diana's resistance crumbles and she relents, following the redhead into the bedroom. The door closes behind them.
Britannia's colorful costume suddenly vanishes, except for her hood and mask. Wonder Woman gasps in shock at the rapid transformation and at the impressive musculature on the witch's body. Diana doesn't know that Britannia stole energy from Supergirl to make this body, to rejuvenate it, in fact.* "Come, my love, let's get you undressed," the witch says, smiling. She reaches behind Wonder Woman's back and begins to unhook Diana's girdle. The Amazon instinctively starts at the prospect of losing her girdle, and with it her Amazonian powers, but then softens in expectation that the witch means no harm. In short order, the golden girdle falls to the floor, quickly followed by Diana's red and gold bustier and her star-spangled shorts. As the witch kneels to lower the shorts, Diana reaches up and removes her golden tiara, dropping to the floor atop her costume. Her breath intakes sharply when, while rising, Britannia pauses to kiss Diana's furry mons.
"Let me take off my boots," Diana says when Britannia begins to pull her hands to bring her into bed.
"I don't want to waste another second of time to have you," Britannia says in a deep and throaty voice. The two topple into the soft bed, lying on their sides, facing each other. In seconds, both women begin a frenzied dance, stroking and caressing each other's body. As they gasp and pant from the arousing sensations, Diana suddenly rises, pushes Britannia on her back, and changes position to place her head near the woman's crotch. The Amazon princess forces the Englishwoman's legs apart and as she sticks her mouth down into the witch's red-haired patch, she lowers her own black-clad pussy onto the woman's face. Both woman begin to hungrily lick and suck on each other, focusing their attentions on the other's clit. Suddenly this small room fills with the moans of pleasure from two mighty heroines.
"Oh oh oohh OOOHHH OOOOHHHHHHHHH!! I'M CUMMMMINNNGGG!!" one moans as the other slurps and sucks. Then the other cries out as she too experiences a powerful orgasm. For several seconds, the two women moan and cry as their bodies have one orgasm after another. They pleasure each other as only women can, invulnerable to exhaustion or lack of erection. Soon both women are having powerful orgasms every few seconds, and each is close to biting the other's nipple or nether lips from the pleasure she's receiving. Time loses all meaning - sucking is the only thing left to the two women and they explore it in every way possible. Sometimes Diana is on top, sometimes the Englishwoman, and sometimes they're side by side. Sometimes they are linked crotch to mouth, sometimes mouth to mouth. They almost never move more than an inch away from the other as they try out different love-making positions.
Britannia finally collapses beside Wonder Woman, lying with one arm across the
Amazon's bare belly. "I ... c-can't
The Amazon princess finally replies, saying, "It has been a long time since I enjoyed another woman's company as much as I enjoyed yours."
"Perhaps we should get dressed, wake up the man, and find Kara?" the sorceress asks, turning her face toward Diana's. The brunette looks at the hooded and masked face of her lover, smiles, and nods. The two women rise to their feet and a pair of bathrooms materialize along one wall of the bedroom. "Choose one," Britannia commands. She and Diana each enter a bathroom and emerge several minutes later, cleansed and scented and ready for action. As Diana begins to don her costume, Britannia waves a hand and her costume appears magically, once again covering her entire body in fabric.
"May I visit you again some time?" Diana asks as she puts her tiara into her hair, the last part of her costume to be put on. Britannia nods yes and the two gorgeous women leave the bedroom and reenter the main room of the cottage. As they leave the bedroom, the doorway once again becomes a bookshelf along the wall. Britannia waves a hand at Batman as the women approach him and the Dark Knight slowly revives - or awakens. He feels remarkably-refreshed. He also no longer has impossibly-deep feelings of love for Britannia. The witch removed her spells on the man's mind as she woke him.
"Let's go find Supergirl," Wonder Woman says to the Caped Crusader. Suddenly the three heroes materialize atop the lintel stone at the English landmark. "We can take my plane," she continues, not missing a beat. Together they float down off the stone and head across a broad grassy field to the invisible plane.
"What is the meaning of this intrusion!" Luthor bellows when the Dark Knight, Princess Diana and Britannia walk into his office from his balcony several hours later. "Must I have that balcony destroyed? Seems like one of you costumed freaks breaks into my office on a daily basis ..."
"Silence, Luthor," Diana commands, silencing the powerful crime lord. "Our friend here has sensed the presence of Supergirl in this building. We intend to find her."
Luthor just glares at the three heroes. "Mercy," he says into the intercom, "come to my office with some security personnel. Code blue." As the heroes move across the carpet toward the door, Mercy Graves enters the room with three beefy male and one buff female guard. Graves is in a black leather blouse, taupe silk skirt and jacket, and calf-high black boots. "I assume you freaks have a warrant?" Lex asks his visitors.
"Shut up, Lex," Batman says, walking past the tall bald man. The trio bulls its way through Mercy and the guards and into Luthor's outer office. "Our friend here detected the presence of Supergirl in this building, Luthor, and we mean to track her down."
"I have no idea what you mean but now I'll have to follow you around to ensure that none of my corporate secrets are exposed."
"Shut up, Lex," Diana says as Britannia leads them out toward the elevator bank. A few minutes later, after a roaring descent into the bowels of LexCorp Towers, the three heroes, Luthor, Mercy and the four guards leave a crowded elevator deep below the city's streets.
Britannia looks around briefly, as if uncertain where to go next. Suddenly she spins around and looks intently at the closed elevator door. "What is she, some kind of bloodhound in human shape?" Mercy asks, hiding the nervousness she feels behind a joke.
"She's a witch, a very powerful witch, who's a very close friend of Supergirl," Batman explains. "For your sake, I hope no harm has come to her."
Both Luthor and Graves shudder briefly at this revelation, but each also manages to hid his/her feelings from the three crime-fighters. "She's behind here," Britannia says, pointing at the elevator doors. Wonder Woman immediately crosses over to them and uses her mighty muscles to pry the doors apart. As the humans watch the elevator doors, Batman steps back a step to keep a keen eye on the humans, lest they try anything at the last minute.
"Nothing," Diana says disgustedly. "Normal dirt and discarded junk down here - no sign of Kara."
"Wait!" Britannia commands. She stands between the open elevator doors, raises her hands, and begins an incantation. After a moment, a blue and red light begins to shimmer in the bottom of the elevator. A heartbeat later, the ghostly body of Supergirl begins to float upward from the bottom of the shaft.
"Oh, Batman," Diana exclaims, covering her mouth with one hand, "she's a ghost!"
Batman is about to rush to Diana's side when the witch says, "No, that just means her body lies beneath the floor of this ... whatever this oddly-shaped room is called." Behind the two women crimefighters, Lex and Mercy begin to perspire at the prospect of having their little plan turn around and bite them in their asses. Lex is about to act when the roof of the sub-basement suddenly fills with a greenish glow, soon to be replaced by a green sphere dropping through the ceiling. The sphere is on the end of Green Lantern's power ring and inside the sphere are Hawkman, Flash and the Martian Manhunter. The four land in the now-crowded sub-basement and even Luthor's henchmen begin to perspire - too many super dudes here!
"Can we help?" Lantern asks.
"Our new friend here says that Supergirl is under this elevator shaft, Lantern," Diana says, turning to her colleague. She clasps his green-and-black-clad shoulder and pulls him close to the edge of the shaft. They look down and see dirt and garbage. Lantern makes a huge shovel and drives it into the dirt. It penetrates a depth of two feet, then clangs to a halt.
"Something down there," Lantern says. "I hope that wasn't Supergirl!"
His tool reforms into a vacuum and begins to suck dirt and garbage off the floor, sending it down the hallway into the shadows behind Luthor's people and the Leaguers. After mere seconds, a flat gray slab is revealed at the bottom of the shaft. Lantern drives two long green probes into the slab and slowly lifts it upward into the shaft above their heads. As the slab of lead rises past their heads, Diana gasps, "Kara!" and leaps into the open pit. She quickly kneels and wraps her arms behind Supergirl's knees and neck and leaps out of the pit and back to the sub-basement. Wonder Woman deposits the Kryptonian on the floor and kneels beside her, checking for a pulse. The pretty blonde is dressed in a full-body blue unitard (with the characteristic 'S' over her breasts) that looks like porno-movie bodypaint - although it covers all of her body and has somewhat thicker fabric to cover her nipples and crotch, every curve and nook on her body can be seen in the glittery blue fabric. It has a decorative thin yellow belt, calf-length boots, red with yellow trim and two elbow-length red gloves. Her breast slowly rises and lowers as she breathes - rises and lowers very slowly and infrequently!
"I had nothing to do with this," Luthor lies. Mercy stands nervously by his side and the four guards begin to sweat profusely at the prospect of doing battle with a mess of super beings.
"You're quick to protest your innocence, Lex," Batman says, moving closer to the tall criminal genius. "Why don't I believe you?"
"Believe what you want, detective," Lex says. "Below my office, my activities occupy a few floors in this tower. But there are also ten floors of apartments, ten floors of other businesses, and Farmer's Bank of Metropolis has the first two sub-basements and the next four floors. My own security forces don't kick in until the thirtieth floor, Batman, because we have no interests worth watching below that level. This far down inside the building's physical plant, no one has security. You cannot reach this level unless you go through the bank's area."
"Or live atop the tower, I'll wager," Hawkman interjects.
"Or come down from your office, as we just did," Diana adds.
"Mercy, help these folks review our security films for the date they think Supergirl went missing. Help them see that we had nothing ..."
"Not necessary, Luthor," Wonder Woman says, moving toward the man and uncoiling
her lasso. "We'll get the truth from you or Mercy in no time at all, with this
Luthor steps away and holds up a palm as if stopping her. "I have rights, and unless you have evidence that links me to a possible crime ..."
"She's not breathing," Britannia reports. Everyone turns around to face the witch, who's now kneeling over Supergirl's body. "She stopped breathing a moment ago. Now I can't awaken her," the witch says, with anguish in her voice. "She seems to have been bewitched - I can see a dark, oppressive aura around her body, shielding her from us and keeping her asleep."
"There you are," Lex gloats, "I'm not a magic user, neither is Mercy!"
"Shut up, Lex," several of the heroes say at the same time.
As the members of the League crowd around the stricken blonde, Luthor and his staff begin to back toward another elevator. The four guards enter the elevator but Lex and Mercy pass THROUGH the elevator to a hidden room on the far side of the elevator car. As the elevator begins to rise upward, Lex and Mercy jump into two tubes on the floor and ride in a small pneumatic car deep under the city toward the Metropolis River. As they race through the stygian blackness, Lex begins keying codes into the laptop inside the computer, transfering his wealth offshore. "We'll have to lie low for a while, Mercy, until those freaks calm down."
"Think they'll be able to revive her?"
"I could care less, Mercy," Luthor lies.
"Whatever magicks have been done to her, they are very powerful, Diana," the English Enchantress says. She's kneeling beside the blue-clad body of Supergirl. "We must ask that bald man what he knows about this."
"I don't think Luthor did this," Diana replies. "He's not a magic-user."
"Just in case, Diana," Lantern says, nodding at his companions. He surrounds the Manhunter, Flash and Hawkman in a green globe and together they float up through the ceiling. They think they're following Lex up the elevator shaft, unaware that he's racing across the city toward the harbor.
Britannia works for over an hour on the Maid of Might, trying first one spell, then another, but cannot awaken the heroine. "We need to ask her who did this," Wonder Woman says desperately. "If we know who made her like this, maybe we can reverse it."
"It's worth a try, sister," Britannia replies grimly. "I have an idea ..."
A few minutes later, the Girl of Steel slowly opens her eyes. They're glazed over and her breathing is still slow and shallow, but a small kernal of consciousness has returned to her. Diana wraps her magic lasso around Supergirl's shoulders and asks her to tell them who put her asleep. The Maid of Might replies in a dull voice, "Lex Luthor."
After Diana recovers from the shock, she asks more questions and eventually learns that Supergirl is under a compulsion created by the Golden Lasso! Seconds later, the Maid of Might awakens fully, freed from the compulsion spell created by Lex Luthor when he briefly had possession of the sorcerous lariat.
"I'm going to Dallas to look for Kal," Supergirl tells the members of the League a day later. Luthor has escaped and although Supergirl would like to go after him, she knows her duty. She must see what's happened to America's greatest super hero. "I'll start at that Super Heroes Foundation office down there and see if they have any idea where he might be."
"I have business here," Lantern says. "I'll join you in two days, Supergirl, and help you look for Superman."
"Thanks!" the blonde replies. She rises from her chair and turns toward the door. She's now clad in her old costume - blue tunic, red skirt, yellow belt, red and yellow calf-high boots. Mercy returned it to the Girl of Steel just before Luthor knocked her out and buried her in his building.
A few hours later, the lovely blond heroine gently lands atop the Dallas Federal Building, home of the regional office of the Super Heroes Foundation, a non-profit organization that finances heroes (and heroines) in return for some control over where they patrol and who they protect. After a very short wait in the lobby of the office, the Maid of Might is ushered into the office of the Director, a short thickset man with close-cropped hair named Kelso.
The Super Heroes Foundation is a nation-wide non-profit organization, partially funded by donations and fees, partially by federal money, that "manages" super heroes for the federal government. Some heroes attend special classes at the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia, while others go to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) at Glynco, Georgia, and become licensed federal marshals. Most of the others take a short two-week camp operated by the SHF at the FLETC, where they are processed and become a kind of private, super-powered security force. The older heroes, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, or Batman, are only loosely affiliated with the SHF - they were deputized many years ago and operate independently. Some of the younger heroes, as well, like Robin, Batgirl, and Kid Flash also have not joined the SHF, for one reason or another. Members of the Foundation are often rented to a business or government, on a short term basis, when their particular skills are needed. In return, the Foundation provides the heroes with money and other support.
"Nice to see you again, Supergirl," Kelso says, smiling at the Maid of Might as she sits in a chair across from his desk.* "I trust all is well with you? Have you changed your mind about affiliating with the Foundation?"
"Thanks, Mr. Kelso," Supergirl says, slowly crossing her long legs. Once again she notices, and thinks it odd that Kelso has no difficulty keeping his eyes on hers. Her lovely white legs, her perky breasts, the taut costume - nothing seems to entice the man, to make him want todevour her body with his eyes. Almost as if the man isn't human!
"I'm looking for Superman - he was last seen coming here with someone named Raven - one of your people?"
"Yes, Raven is one of our better heroines," Kelso replies. "Miss Haversham," Kelso says into his desktop intercom, "see if Raven is here - have her join us if she is in the office."
"Superman and Raven tracked down the gang that trapped her and sold her to the slavers," Kelso continues. "Superman helped Raven bust the gang - even got on TV after they ... Ah, here she is now!" Kelso rises from his seat and extends a hand as a lovely woman enters his office. Raven, a short (5'6" and 125 lbs) woman clad in a pair of dark blue/black spandex tights that accentuate every curve on her well-muscled legs, a long-sleeved spandex top of the same color barely containing her full, round breasts. A pair of light blue shorts contrast nicely with the darker blue of her costume. She has a red nylon web belt with three pouches on it and a pair of brown calf-high leather boots with three inch heels. A black silk band with holes for her eyes is tied behind her head with her hair cascading over the band so only the front part of the mask is visible.
Supergirl rises and shakes Raven's hand, then the three sit to discuss Superman's disappearance. "We heard he was doing well, then he just dropped out of sight," Supergirl explains.
"After we took down the Deep Ellum Destroyers, the gang that captured me and sold me to the slave ring, we had a press conference on Dallas TV," Raven says. "About an hour or two after the news report, we were back here at the SHF talking about what we accomplished. Superman was preparing to return home when he suddenly went all silent. Without saying anything, he took off and just disappeared. We thought he returned to Metropolis, Supergirl."
"Nope. Has anything unusual occurred in Dallas?"
"The Cowboys have had a bad season," Kelso jokes. "But also, there HAVE been some high-tech robberies recently. Mostly electronic components, but also some genetic research experiments."
A frown crosses Supergirl's angelic face. "I don't like the sound of that at all!"
"Do you have any ideas, Supergirl?"
"One very bad one, yes, but I need more information."
"That's all we have," Kelso says. "Look - you're welcome to work out of this office until you find what happened to Superman. Our heroes will be more than happy to help you, too. Right, Raven?"
"Yeah," Raven says, looking into the eyes of the Girl of Tomorrow, "might be fun."
The next day, Supergirl and two SHF heroes manage to stop a bank robbery, freeing two dozen hostages and capturing the five-man gang with no casualties. She smiles broadly for the live TV cameras as the felons are led away by Dallas' finest. She's about to leap into the air to fly back to the SHF, carrying the two male heroes, Devastator and Mentat, when suddenly a piercing sound strikes her ears. She almost drops the two men as she tries to shut out the sound. "Nnnnnhhh," she moans as her head feels like it's about to split from the sound.
Supergirl wavers on her legs and her tight grip around the two men squeezes their bodies painfully, making them moan and struggle to get free of the heroine. "What's wrong, Supergirl?" Mentat asks, aware of the pain she's feeling.
"I dunno ... ooooooohhhhh," Supergirl replies, putting a hand against the side of her head. "Some kind of sound - very high frequency - I can barely hear it but it's, like, it's boring into my head. Ooooohhhh!" she gasps, leaning over, holding herself up by planting one hand on a kneecap while the other continues to hold her head.
[Hello, Supergirl] a woman's voice says inside the blonde's head, [I trust that you can hear me?]
"Yes, damnit, I can hear you!" the Girl of Steel replies. "Just tell me where you are ..."
[Tsk, tsk, tsk, once a blonde, always a dumb blonde!] the voice says. [I can't hear you, Supergirl. I don't even know where you are! I just hope you're still in Dallas and can hear this. If you can, hover about 100 feet over the golf ball in downtown Dallas. When I see you there, I'll tell you more. You have twenty minutes to get there, Supergirl.] A blessed silence eases the pain inside Supergirl's ears.
"I think I just found the person who captured Superman," the Girl of Steel tells the two men. "I'll try to let you know where he is before I go after him. I'm sorry but you'll have to get back to your office on your own. Gotta fly now - need to get some information about his captors." Without waiting for a reply, the Maid of Might flexes her calf muscles and rockets into the sky above Dallas. A heartbeat later the Maid of Might hovers high above Reunion Tower, the golf ball of Dallas' skyline.
Time seems to pass far too slowly. Finally, some fifteen minutes after arriving over the landmark, Supergirl again hears the intense, penetrating sound of the ultrasound message. [Well, you ARE in town, I see!] the feminine voice says. [As you may suspect, I have captured Superman. If you don't surrender to me in the next ten minutes, I'll kill him. Then I'll capture you and kill you, too. Your choice, Supergirl.]
"What choice?" Supergirl wonders. "That nut job doesn't know what she wants and she sucks at hostage negotiations!"
[If you want to see the Big Blue Boyscout, fly west across the freeway and head toward the warehouses you see before you,] the amplified electronic voice orders.
The Girl of Steel flexes her calf muscles and banks westward toward the warehouse district. She quickly spots a small building with ultraviolet light pouring out the windows - thank Rao for super vision! She scans the building with her x-ray vision and quickly spots the Man of Steel, chained to a wall (again! - "this is getting old," Supergirl thinks), a woman in a black bodysuit and helmet, and two run-of-the-mill thugs.
The heroine gently lands outside the warehouse and raises one leg slightly. She straightens it out and smashes the metal door off its hinges, sending it flying into the warehouse's dark interior. The Girl of Steel strides purposefully into the lair of her foe, stops and puts her hands on her hips, her legs slightly spread. She glowers at the woman in the high-tech, super soldier suit. "I'm getting tired of seeing you, MixMaster," Supergirl says. "This time you won't get away."
"I'm tired of dealing with you Kryptonian muscleheads, Supergirl," the infamous Dr. Alexandra Collins, a.k.a. MixMaster, replies from the speaker on the side of her helmet. She has on the stolen prototype of the Army's Super Soldier suit, a dark gray full-body suit made of special fabrics packed with an exo-skeleton and unique, one-of-a-kind capabilities. The featureless fabric hugs every curve on her remarkably fit and athletic-looking body. She has a large belt with several pouches on it and a small back pack. A special helmet covering her whole head sports a face shield with a mirror-like finish. Shiny black pike-heel, knee-high boots and black gloves made made of the same stuff as her body suit complete the outfit. Her super suit gives her sophisticated sensors, invisibility on the infrared and electromagnetic parts of the spectrum, the strength of fifty men, and a variety of unique weapons. Her regular workouts and frequent use of experimental drugs have augmented her strength and reflexes far beyond those of other humans.
Her two thugs, also dressed in cheap knock-off versions of the super soldier suit, charge the Maid of Might. She ignores their futile attempts to knock her down - her muscles and flying powers keep her locked rigidly in place as the men, one on each of her arms, struggle to move the Maid of Might. "Call off your goons before they hurt themselves or strain something," Supergirl tells MixMaster. The men release her arms and stand beside the Girl of Steel, looking at her through the visors on their helmets.
The Maid of Might reaches out and grabs each man by a handful of fabric on his chest. She lifts the two men off the ground and holds them off to her sides, one one each side. She continues to carefully watch the villainess, aware that the woman MUST have some deadly trap planned - how else could she capture the Man of Steel and leave him hanging limply from simple chains?
"Why don't you surrender, Dr. Collins?" Supergirl asks. She's almost ready to toss the henchmen away - let them hit a wall hard enough and they'll be unconscious for hours. She brings them closer to her super body, still held aloft by her mighty hands, and fails to see one of the men pull of his gloves, to reveal purple-colored hands.
Just as Supergirl is about to flex her arms and toss aside the men, the one with purple hands puts one on her right bicep and the other on her right shoulder. Suddenly the Maid of Might screams, "AAAAAIIIIEEEEEEE!!" and her knees buckle. She drops the other man and releases her hold on the stranger's costume. Across the room, MixMaster laughs at Supergirl's discomfort.
"Nnnnhhh, ruh-Rao ... what? Hurrttsss!" she moans. Supergirl feels weak. Very weak. Her body feels like it's on fire. She turns to face the man who's touching her body and he suddenly releases his grip on her, rushes closer, and wraps his arms around her body in a face-to-face bear hug. His arms pin hers to her sides, his hands press against her back, just above her waist, and new pains rip through her body as he pulls her against him.
"Nnnnnnhhhh ... so strong ... uuuunnhhh ... how? Who?" the stricken heroine gasps as her body continues to weaken. Not from green-K poisoning - something seems to be draining her of all her star-fueled energy! She pushes her hands against the thug's shoulders and manages to pry herself free from his grip. She forcefully shoves him back a few steps and stands, on shaky feet, a few feet away from him. She's actually panting from the effort!
Her assailant slowly lifts the full-face helmet off his head, revealing a bald, purple-colored head and face. An ugly looking face, like that of some cartoon monster. "Supergirl, allow me to introduce you to the most recent addition to my little team of super villains. He goes by the name of Parasite," MixMaster says, removing her own helmet. "And the other new member of our gang is someone you've already met." The other member of MixMaster's crew removes his helmet to reveal - Mentat! He must have rushed here while Supergirl was flying above Reunion Tower! "Mentat was able to direct your attention to me and Superman, and away from the Parasite."
Supergirl feels some of her strength returning as she stands, panting, a few feet from Collins' two associates. Her mind swirls in a fog created by the mutant Mentat's mental skills. "Another betrayal by a Foundation member!" she thinks as she watches Parasite move sideways. She quickly spins around and leaps into the air. She floats a few feet across the floor and the tip of her boot clips Mentat under his chin. Her light tap sends the man flying upward and back across the floor, knocked out. As she lands, she suddenly feels Parasite's hands on her body again. The monster now has her in a bear hug, his belly against her back, her arms pinned to her sides.
"Hey ... nnnhhh ... NNNOOOO!" Supergirl screams when the mutant's hands envelop her lovely breasts. "AAAAIIIIEEEEE!!!" she screams as he RIPS energy from her body through her breasts. She desperately kicks her legs back at the man's legs, vainly trying to break his grip. She hits him several times but as Parasite leeches away her super powers, his own body becomes more powerful. Her mighty kicks hurt him, but only a little. He squeezes harder and the Girl of Tomorrow gasps from the suddenly painful pressure on her ribs.
"You might as well give it up, Supergirl," Collins says, approaching the helpless heroine. "Parasite is one of Superman's most powerful foes. The more he touches you, the more of your power he absorbs. You don't stand a chance, little girl. He's been slowly stealing Superman's powers, now he'll steal yours. Soon his body will adapt so he can manage your alien energies, and then he can feed off you two like storage batteries and help me take over the world!"
"Oooohhhh ... nuh-never ... happen ... oooOOOAAAAIIIIEEEE!!" the crippled heroine screams as Parasite cruelly squeezes her breasts - his stolen super strength HURTS her tender love mounds. Her arms dangle loosely at her sides, her legs hang like limp rag-doll legs as he swings her around, held aloft by his stolen super strength.
Then he does the ultimate insult. Parasite pulls Kara closer and licks the back
of her neck, from her shoulder up to behind her ear. "Nnnnnhhh ... stop!" she
protests weakly, shaking her head from side to side. She snaps her head back and
manages to clip his nose. There is a loud
"Gotta ... try!" she realizes. With a Herculean effort, the Maid of Might pulls
her arms up and snaps his arms away from her body, releasing her breasts from
his tight grip. As she frees herself, she spins around and the back of her left
fist hits the side of Parasite's head with a resounding
When Kara drops down to land, her left leg buckles and she drops down onto one
knee, panting, her head hanging down. The thing drained too much of her alien
energy. She realizes she must finish this fight soon. As she starts to rise, she
hears a
"Oooohhh ... so much pain ... nnnnnhhh," she moans, unable to rise off the floor. The room seems to be spinning around her. MIXMASTER!! Supergirl was so busy with Parasite she forgot about Dr. Collins. And of course Collins had a weapon!
"You have spunk, I'll give that to you, Supergirl," Collins says, standing over the defeated heroine. Collins points an odd-looking handgun down at the Maid of Might's chest and says, "But not as much as Superman. Say goodnight, Gracie!" Collins pulls the trigger and a white beam pulses from the gun, hitting the heroine on her S. The shock completes her defeat - her eyes close, her breathing slows. And Dr. Collins laughs insanely.
