The first guy had knocked out the armored car with an RPG. The Russian made rocket had been made to kill tanks, the armored car was easy picking. The six thugs were armed with AKs, carrying 50 round drums of armored piercing bullets and wearing body armor. The Metropolis police were forced back in minutes. Two burning cop cars were testament to that. In all the thugs thought they had done well, and then she showed up.
The first thug was thrown to ground and his gun was snapped in half. He had been hit by a blue red blur. His buddy turned and sprayed the area with bullets. The blur stopped in front of him. It had gone from a blue red blur to a woman dressed in a blue leotard, yellow belt, red skirt boots and cape. Her blonde hair went down to her shoulders. Although her body was slim and her arms didn’t seem all that strong she could rip the AK in half and toss this guy to the moon.
“Hi there, I know the assault ban is lifted but still, RPGs?” she asked. Supergirl punched the guy in the chest and he landed in a heap next to the bank wall. Linda turned to deal with the next two thugs. One fired were she had been, but she was gone. To him she reached him in seconds, to Linda she just ran at him whom seemed frozen in time. Another thug down, his friend had been unloading the armored car. Supergirl grabbed him by his bullet proof vest. She yanked him out of the back and knocked him out with a punch.
The last two thugs gathered next to each other. “Hey Jim use the RPG on the bitch.” Dale suggested. Jim aimed the round. Supergirl saw the two and was going to charge them. Jim fired, with a blast of fire the RPG flew at Supergirl. Once again things slowed down for her, she could have dodged it but then it might fly into the bank which was still populated. Linda stopped and prepared for the hit. The RPG hit her in the chest. Supergirl grunted and was sent flying backwards into bank wall.
Dale smiled, “Shit I think that did it!” Supergirl hadn’t emerged from the smoke, “Ready another round I’ll finish her off.” Dale walked over to the hole in the wall. At first he couldn’t see Supergirl then he spotted her. Supergirl lay on her back in a pile of bricks. A burn where the RPG had hit was across her S symbol on her chest. The Girl of Steel was unconscious. Dale smiled, nice face bitch, sorry to ruin it. He aimed the AK right at her face. Dale didn’t know what happened next. Linda did, a red boot slammed into his nether regions, while recovering from that pain, Supergirl kicked him sending him flying.
Linda climbed out of her hole in the wall. She looked at the stain on her costume, “Damn! How do I get this out?” Then she remembered the RPG guy! Linda turned to see him aiming another round, when a red blur hit the guy. When it was done the RPG tube was bent in half and Jim, koed on the street.
“What the?” Supergirl began only to be cut off. “Supergirl I see you still get in trouble often enough.” A girl her age and height was standing next to her in a red sleeveless unitard that showed her cleavage slightly, Wondergirl. “I was doing fine”, Linda smiled, “It just would have sucked to get another RPG in the chest, thanks.”
With the immediate danger passed the cops returned to the crime scene. They thanked the supergirls who made their exit. Supergirl and Wonder Woman both walked out of sight then Linda gave Wondergirl a lift onto the nearest roof.
“Drew, it’s good to see you, what are you doing in town?” Supergirl asked. “Visiting the area then I saw the news, headed down here but then saw you had everything under control till you were hit with the RPG.” Wondergirl, who went under the guise Drew Prince in everyday life, answered.
“I was all right but thanks for your concern. You were visiting why?” Linda asked as she walked over to where she hid her bag. “Checking out your school. I decided that I wanted to get off the island for a while.” She referred to Paradise Island. Linda raised an eyebrow while she put her street clothes back on, “How did your Mom and Diana take that?” “Not well”, Drew said leaning against the roof’s rallying, “There were quite a few shouting matches but I won my way. Diana set the precedent I reminded them.” “Bet I’ll hear about that, even more when Diana finds out…” Linda stopped in mid sentence, “Hey I need a roommate for next year! If you’re going to come to the school might as well bunk out with me. I don’t recommend trying to hide this little secret from someone who you live with.” Linda had a roommate for a little bit, being Supergirl and hiding it from her roommate had been hard. Linda wasn’t too sad when her roommate moved into an apartment with her boyfriend.
Drew thought that one over, “Sure, if you don’t mind living with a girl who shall be coming and going at all hours of the night.” “Only, if you don’t mind living with an alien from another planet?” Linda smiled.
While the two superheroines chatted another woman turned off her TV. Another operation wrecked by that blue and red bitch, she thought. That robbery was going to fund another Intergang project but not now. Supergirl, she had been a thorn in the crime syndicate’s side for too long. Except killing Supergirl was a risky proposition. One of Intergang’s rivals had tried last year. They hired a professional hitwoman to do it, and that hitwoman and the gang landed in jail. Well, I’ll have to do a better job she thought.
Linda was reading a book on her bead when her roommate came in, “How was dance?”
Drew was dressed in her black leotard and athletic pants, her typical dance attire, “My dance teacher needs to lighten up. ‘I don’t care how they do things at your old school Ms. Prince, its how we do them here that matters’, she needs to lighten up.”
Drew collapsed into her folding chair. She picked up the remote for their TV and began channel flipping. As she passed a few different channels she settled on the news, good thing. Live coverage was being shown of a robbery. Armed men had stormed the First Metropolis Bank. Police had been forced back by some woman who was shooting lighting at them. Drew turned to look at Linda who was already changing into Supergirl.
“Want me to come with?” Drew asked. “No, just keep a watch on what’s going on. I recognize this hit and that lightning lady.” Supergirl said, “I’ll be fine.”
Drew watched as she pulled her last boot on and flew out the window. She hoped her friend would be safe. Supergirl flew towards the bank. The outside was being guarded by two men with automatic rifles. She dispatched these two guys quick then made her way inside. Another two leaved their rifles and opened fire. The rounds bounced off Linda’s body. She grabbed both of their rifles and crushed the barrels. Supergirl then knocked the two’s heads together. Both went out like lights. Linda was about to search for the girl when lighting struck her in the back. Thousands of volts of electricity went through her body.
Supergirl fell forward and the bolts cut off. Linda got back up and turned to face her attacker. She wore tight black leotard with a lighting cut down the center showing off her breast. A pair of knee high boots toped it off the look. “Well, well, well if it isn’t Superchump.”
Supergirl shot back, “Nice to see you Livewire. I see your still in the petty theft business.” “Not today, today I settle an old score with you Supergirl.” Livewire was charged with millions of volts of electricity. She could turn into it, shoot it and use it any way she pleased. Linda had put the electric charged villainess in jail. Livewire sent a blast of lighting at Supergirl. The Girl of Steel dodged left, and grabbed the villainess and sent her flying into the street with a throw.
Livewire landed and fired another blast off. This one missed as well. Supergirl eyed what she wanted, a fire hydrant. If she could get Livewire wet she could short out the woman. With a burst of superspeed Linda arrived at the hydrant. She was about to uncap the lid when a blast of lighting hit her. Supergirl grunted as the volts surged threw her once again. She collapsed onto the ground except this time she couldn’t get up as fast.
“With that hit Supergirl I opened up a link to the electrical current inside your body. I began to play hell with you huh?” Livewire laughed.
Supergirl began to get up only to have Livewire land on top of her. The villainess placed her hands Supergirl’s chest and began a new current of electricity flowing into Supergirl’s body. The two women were incased in a blue electric glow. Linda screamed! It felt like her heart was on fire.
“Like that Supergirl? How does it feel to make your heart beat faster, slower or let’s try stopped?” Livewire smiled as she began to work on stopping the kryptonian’s heart. Next thing she knew though was rope or something was wrapped around her waist. She went flying backwards. Landing on her side she saw another superheroine.
“Your that Wonderchick.” She grunted. “That’s Wondergirl but yeah close enough. Don’t take kindly to crazy wackos trying to fry my good friends.” Drew replied. She eyed were Linda lay, Supergirl seemed to be getting up. Wondergirl was about finish off the villainess when Livewire turned into pure electricity and slipped out of her lasso. Drew thought to herself, that’s neat trick. The lighting bolt lanced out at her. Raising her bracelet on her left wrist she blocked the blast. It bounced off and she breathed a shy of relief, good thing these things work against more than bullets. She saw that her arm was white with a first degree burn.
Livewire reformed into her normal form. “Liked that, try this.” She sent bursts off lighting at the young Amazon. Drew blocked the shots or dodged them. Wondergirl did this for a few more minutes till she caught one of the blasts in her chest. Drew collapsed on the ground. Livewire walked over.
“Well, I guess I’ll finish you off. Seems they don’t build Amazons as well as aliens. Supergirl though is next, night, night.” Livewire readied her powers to cook Drew when, Supergirl yelled, “Hey bitch!”
Livewire turned to see Supergirl holding a fire hose. A fireman turned the right levers on his truck and water shot out of the tube. Drew rolled out of the way. Livewire screamed as she shorted out from the water. The villainess collapsed in the street. Linda ran over to Wondergirl.
“All right I decided to come.” Drew said as Supergirl helped her up. “Glad you did”, Linda then saw the burns on her friend’s arms, “Ohh god you okay?” “Yeah I got a healing cream at home take care of this. How about you?” Supergirl sighed in relief, “I’m fine, she did mess with my heart pretty good. I’ll pay visit to Dr. C just to make sure. You sure you’re okay?” “I’m fine Linda. Now I have some math homework to get to.” Drew smiled she ran off at superspeed back to the dorm. Linda smiled and walked over to the koed Livewire. She bent some parking meters around the villainess to make sure she didn’t give the cops any trouble. Supergirl couldn’t wonder though about the robbery. It seemed more like an attempt to get her, after all when had Livewire worked with Intergang? Supergirl thought about it some more as she flew towards Star Labs to get checked out by Dr. Carter.
Intergang’s four main kingpins met for their weekly meeting. The four men where quite disheveled by recent events. Supergirl and now Wondergirl who popped out of no where had killed almost every Intergang project in the last two months. Even before the Amazon got here, Intergang had tried using one of its clean business, Tyler Industries, to make their own superpowered woman to take on Supergirl. That didn’t work, nor had the last attempts.
“Well that electric bitch got arrested.” The first one mumbled. “It was a good idea, last time she nearly killed Supergirl.” The second answered. It had been his idea to use Livewire. “Nearly killed, not good enough.” A woman remarked from the back. The men turned to see her. Claire Sanders second in command to one of the men there had made the remark.
Her boss spoke, “This is Sanders, she has a plan to deal with these supergirls.” Claire informed the bosses on her plan. At the end of it only the second guy was skeptical. “I don’t like it; she’ll know its us.” “She already knows, once we split the two ladies they will be easy to take down. In fact I’ll take care of Supergirl myself.” Claire answered. “You can?” asked the first. “She will.” Her boss answered, “Remember what she said, once we have what we need Supergirl could be finished off by my grandmother. Go ahead with your plan Claire.”
Claire walked off. It would take two weeks to get everything ready, but when it was over Supergirl would be dead, and operations in Metropolis could really be profitable and she would be in charge of them. Claire smiled thinking about soon becoming the newest boss of Metropolis.
“Okay, love ya too.” Linda hung up the phone. Mom you have to calm down, she thought to herself. Her Mom had freaked when she saw the footage of Supergirl being shocked. Mrs. Danvers had hit her daughter with a barrage of questions; it took Linda a good ten minutes to calm her Mom down. “Jezz, mom needs to calm down. How many times do I have to tell her I’m fine?” Linda asked her roommate.
Drew was sitting at her computer and just smiled. At least Diana only called once, Wondergirl smiled, “Helps when only your sister lives on the continent.” Drew laughed
Two weeks had passed since the robbery at First Metropolis. The two heroines still didn’t know what the objective had been at the bank. Kill them? Or was it a robbery. Linda was convinced it was an attempt against the superheroines’ lives.
“Well I’m going out for some flying.” Linda said. “That’s the second time today. Do you ever do any work?” Drew asked. “Helps me think, and no.” Linda joked. She changed into Supergirl and flew out the window. Supergirl darted between the buildings around campus. After Solar Flare had followed Linda to her dorm and discovered her identity, she had made her exit and arrival from school as random as possible, soon though she was in orbit above the city. Little know to the Maiden of Might, she was watched.
Intergang had sent up a radar site on top of one of their skyscrapers. As soon as Supergirl appeared on its screens they began the plan. Claire received the first phone call. After a short conversation she gave the go ahead for the first phase.
Supergirl was flying smoothly when a sharp ringing hit her. Linda clutched her head trying to cover her ears. Seconds after it started though it stopped and a mechanical voice came through.
SUPERGIRL ONLY YOU CAN HEAR THIS. IF YOU DON’T GO TO TOP OF THE DAILY PLANET BUILDING IN ONE MINUTE, THE BUILDING WILL BLOW.
Linda shook her head. What the hell? Was it true? Supergirl decided she couldn’t take the chance and put her arms out forwards and speeded towards the newspaper. She landed next to the large metal globe. Looking around she saw a large satchel on the roof. Walking over she saw a digital timer counting down to zero, it was at 00:10 seconds and the bag was filled with C4. Linda grabbed the bomb and threw it skyward into the night. As the bomb reached 00:00 it was already a mile above the city. The explosion lit up the night sky. Supergirl was wondering what was up when another screeching sound went through her head. The voice was back.
SUPERGIRL I SEE YOU FOUND THE BOMB. NOW THERE ARE DOZENS OF THESE THINGS SCATTERED AROUND THE CITY. YOU COULD START LOOKING OR DO AS I SAY. I RECOMMEND THE LATTER. THOSE BOMBS WILL KILL PLENTY OF WOMEN AND CHILDERN IF YOU ANGER ME. IF YOU UNDERSTAND AND WILL DO AS I SAY, FLY TO NET CORP BUILDING AND WAIT ON THE ROOF. DO SOMETHING ELSE I BLOW THE NEXT BOMB, TRY GETTING WONDERGIRL I BLOW THE BOMB. YOU HAVE THRITY SECONDS.
Supergirl had little choice. Though she’d love to get Drew in on this for help, she didn’t have the time or a cell phone. Linda took off and flew off towards the designated building.
Supergirl landed on top of the building. Linda looked around for something to clue her in on what to do next. Then she heard it, the vibration of a cell phone. She walked over and picked up the phone. It vibrated again, a text message popped up.
GOOD NOW WLK ONTO THE HELIPAD
Linda did as she was told. Supergirl strolled over and her red boots were right on the H of the helicopter pad. For a few minutes nothing happened till the floor opened up beneath the Girl of Steel. At first she fell but Supergirl caught herself and eased down in a controlled flight. After a minute Supergirl came into an office, at a desk ten feet to her front was a burnet haired woman sitting on its edge. The burnet was confident and cool in her business suit and black hose.
“Nice to see you Supergirl, hope you don’t mind I was watching.” The woman gestured to a bank of TV screens behind Supergirl. “Not at all, now who are you and why did you bring me here.” Supergirl asked placing her hands on her hips looking cool and confident as well. “Clarie Sanders, and you’ve been a thorn in our side too long Supergirl. Intergang doesn’t take kindly to the loss of profit. I’m going to kill you.” She smiled.
Supergirl was unconvinced. With a burst of speed she at the woman’s side and had her lifted straight up in the air with a single hand, “Okay, now how did you plan on killing me? Because I’m wondering, oh by the way, I’m not dumb enough to open up the lead box in your desk which probably has a chunk of kryptonite in it. The laser projector which is set to the frequency of a red sun won’t work either since I’m about to break it.”
Supergirl focused her heat vision and melted what seemed to be a normal camera at the side of the room. “Well…Supergirl it seems you’ve got me. Mind lowering me?” Claire asked. With her two aces gone Supergirl didn’t see any problem with lowering the would be assassin. “Now where is the control to those bombs?” Supergirl demanded. “All right it’s on my computer.” Claire pointed. Linda dropped the villainess on the ground and walked over to the PC on the woman’s desk. As she was opening up the appropriate files Claire whistled. Supergirl looked at the woman who was kicking off her shoes.
“You where right about the camera Supergirl, except for the location of the kryptonite.” Claire reached under her skirt and pulled down her black tights. Except instead of white skin, a green sheen appeared from under the tights. Linda’s face went into shock.
Supergirl felt her body tense, her breathing increased and she felt her legs become rubbery. As Claire took off her black tights she revealed the green shiny pantyhose which were made from kryptonite and nylon. Linda felt sick to her stomach, kryptonite was the only thing that could her hurt her, kill her. Her body became weaker, as her cells felt the effects of the deadly radiation her powers began to fade. Supergirl leaned on the desk it was the only thing keeping her up. Claire smiled; everything was working just as planed. Although her boss had laughed at the idea of using their small supply of kryptonite to make a pair of pantyhose she knew Supergirl would never have suspected it.
Sanders slipped her shoes back on and walked closer to Supergirl. Linda felt worse as the woman closed. She stumbled back trying to get away only Claire was too fast. The villain had closed with in a foot of the Maiden of Might; Supergirl couldn’t stay up any longer and fell to the floor.
“Like it Supergirl? Feeling a little green in the gills? No I figured you wouldn’t fall for the kryptonite in the lead box trick. So I picked the craziest spot to hind the kryptonite.” Claire laughed, she kicked of her shoe and used her pantyhosed foot to nudge Supergirl onto her back. “Please…stop…I’m…dying.” Supergirl weakly replied. She was sick. For Supergirl it was an unusual feeling. Her organs felt like they were on fire, she was so weak couldn’t even form a full sentence. When Claire placed her foot on Supergirl’s side it burned.
“Sorry, honey. But you have been too much trouble, don’t worry though, Wondergirl will be close behind.” Supergirl looked with a mix of pain and anger at Claire. “If…you…try anything…she’ll…kick…your…” Supergirl was cut off. “Kick my ass? I’ve beaten you Supergirl, I think the young Amazon won’t be as much of a problem.” Claire kicked Supergirl in the ribs and she let out a sigh of pain. The villainess picked up her cell phone, “Yes, Supergirl is occupied. Go ahead and take out the Amazon if you please.”
Supergirl couldn’t move or think clearly, Drew…
“Okay later.” Drew said as she walked out of the dance hall. She had just parted company with Sally West who was helping her survive the dance class. Drew was heading back towards her dorm. This was her last class for the day and now she was going to head back to the dorm and take a shower. As she walked back towards the dorm the night was lit up by a brilliant blast from downtown. Drew wondered if that was Linda’s doing. She considered changing into Wondergirl. After a few minutes though nothing else happened, so she decided what ever had happened was well with in Supergirl’s hands.
Back inside the dorm Drew had begun to change. The TV was on and she scanned the channels for anything on that explosion. Nothing was coming up then she caught a breaking news report. A bomb had been found in the Children’s Memorial Hospital, it was counting down and the Police bomb squad couldn’t defuse it. Dropping the clothes she was grabbing Drew began to spin in a prefect ballet circle. With a blast of white light she had changed into her superpowered Amazonian self.
Wondergirl jumped out the window and began to run at full speed towards the hospital. As she ran Drew passed everyone and everything else, including the police barricades. Running inside she headed for the bomb squad’s location. Drew stopped herself next to a police officer who was dressed in a huge olive drab flak suit. “Where is it?” she asked. “Jezz that was fast! Uhh it’s in that room counting down. We tried everything nothing short of the control for that bomb is going to turn it off.” The cop said. “Can I move it?” Drew asked the officer. “Yeah but there less than a min…” The cop finished and in that time Wondergirl had ran into the room grabbed the satchel bomb and ran out heading for the outside.
Wondergirl now outside checked the digital timer, 00:25. With a spin and using all her strength tossed the bomb skyward. For the second time that night a flash and bang lit the sky. Drew was wondering where Linda had been during this when she was hit from behind. Wondergirl went flying into the side of a car. An Amazon shaped dent was put in the side. Drew shook her head and tried to clear the effects of the car collision with it when her attacker appeared, the Cheetah.
“Well now I get the meet the sister of the pain in my ass.” Cheetah sneered. “Nice to meet you as well”, Wondergirl said, “Plus I’m going to be just as big of a pain.”
Wondergirl slammed her fist into Cheetah’s face. The leopard catsuit skinned villainess went flying into a wall. Drew followed that up with a series of punches to the villainess’s stomach. Cheetah grunted and used her legs to kick Wondergirl in the face. Drew fell back and received a punch across her face. Cheetah followed that up by tackling the young Amazon. She pinned Wondergirl’s arms with her knees. Drew struggled with the woman but Cheetah was stronger than her.
“Now Wondergirl I going to take you for a little ride. Just relax Junior Wondie.” Cheetah smiled. The villainess took one of her claws on her fingers and pierced the skin of Drew’s neck. “What did you do?” Wondergirl asked. “Just relax…Wondergirl…” Cheetah said softly. “What…” Drew began but began to feel drowsy. Her eye lids became heavy, she felt her muscles getting weaker, and she started to fall asleep. Wondergirl’s eyes fluttered then shut. Cheetah smiled, Intergang was paying her well and she would be able to take out Wonder Woman’s sister than use that against Wonder Woman. Cheetah lifted the unconscious Wondergirl and carried her over to a Van she had waiting. Laying Wondergirl in the back she made sure to bind the girl’s arms and legs in heavy chains. Cheetah then unclasped the belt around Wondergirl’s waist. With her belt removed she had striped the woman of all her strength. Cheetah then took off her mask and revealed her long blonde hair; she quickly put on a coat and hopped in the front seat. Cheetah then drove to her hide out.
Wondergirl’s head spun she brought her hand up to her head and began to sit up. She shook her head in an effort to clear her burly vision. First thing she saw was that her body was in the middle of a poorly lit warehouse. Next thing Drew checked was her belt, which was missing. Damn, she thought, no wonder I feel weak that bitch took my belt without it I’m only Drew Prince. Drew stood up. Wondergirl checked to see if her other items were still there. Her lasso was MIA but she still had her tiara and bracelets.
“Missing a few things Wondergirl?” Cheetah called from the shadows. “Yeah, care to explain where they are?” Wondergirl shot back looking for Cheetah in the shadows. She didn’t have to look long.
Cheetah came out from the shadows. The villainess had Drew’s belt and lasso in her hand, “Without your little accessorizes you be easy pickings. Once you’re a bloody pulp, I’ll use you as bait for your big sister.” Cheetah tossed the belt and lasso high up on to a net she placed near the ceiling. “One problem Cheetah you’re going to be that pulp.” Wondergirl said as confidently as possible. Except Drew didn’t have her strength or speed like when she was fully powered. So I’ll have to improvise, she thought.
Cheetah charged the heroines and began let kicks and punches fly. Drew was a skilled fighter and began to block punches and doge the kicks. Cheetah was fast though, her strength and speed were all natural, and short of knocking her out she would be faster and stronger. The villainess connected a right hook sending Drew to her knees. She followed that up with a kick to Drew’s chest. Wondergirl collapsed and barley dodged a stomp on her abs by Cheetah. Drew sung her leg out and tripped the villainess.
She couldn’t keep this up. Cheetah was too strong and fast, so she needed to keep her off balance. Wondergirl kicked Cheetah while she was on the ground. It would by her a few seconds. Drew kept her distance and get space. Her mind was trying to come up with a plan. Cheetah got up and ran at Wondergirl a second time. Drew readied for the next attack and came up with a plan. The two women clashed and exchanged blows. While Wondergirl’s blows were not as strong as Cheetah’s they were just as effective.
“You know Cheetah, even without my belt I’m doing pretty good. I can’t wonder why my sister has so much trouble with you.” Drew joked. “Damn you, I’ll rip you apart!” Cheetah charged again. Wondergirl held her ground, dodging blows and moving closer to her objective. Cheetah helped, she kicked Wondergirl in the chest and sent her flying right into place. Drew got up and watched as Cheetah charged again. That’s it, come on, just a little closer, Wondergirl waited and right before Cheetah threw her punch, she jumped straight up. Airborne she watched as Cheetah passed under her, and she landed right on the villainess. Both heroine and villain collapsed in a heap.
Drew clamped her arm around Cheetah’s neck. Squeezing with all her strength she was determined to knock Cheetah out with a sleeper hold. Cheetah struggled to free herself, she grabbed onto the arm that was cutting off the flow of blood to her brain and pulled, trying to rip it out of place. The villainess though was weakened, Wondergirl landing on top her plus the fight had weakened her. “Come one Cheetah, go to sleep!” Drew grunted. “I’ll…get..you bitch.” Cheetah swore as she lost conscious. Keeping the hold on for a few more seconds Drew made sure that the villain was out cold before letting go. Wondergirl let go and caught her breath. Next thing was to get her belt back.
Drew hopped down to the ground. After a few minutes of climbing and stretching she had retrieved her belt and lasso. As Wondergirl re-clasped her belt around her waist she felt her Amazonian strength and power return to her body. Walking over to the koed Cheetah she wrapped her lasso around the villainess.
“All right, Cheetah wake up and answer my questions.” She demanded. Cheetah arose from her slumber and felt the effects of the lasso; she struggled for a second till Wondergirl tightened the lasso, “No way Cheetah! You will not struggle in fact, you feel like your very weak in my lasso, understand?” Cheetah’s body began to feel weak as ordered, her struggled ceased, “Yes.” “Why were you trying to keep me occupied? You could have done this any other time why now?” The villainess responded, “Intergang, paid me. They gave me a million dollars to either kill you or capture you. They didn’t care because all they wanted was to have you occupied for a while.” “Why did they want me occupied?” Wondergirl demanded. “They were going to kill Supergirl. With you occupied there would be no one to help her out. I think Intergang has some kryptonite they wish to show the Girl of Steel.” Cheetah speculated.
Drew was worried now. Kryptonite was poison for her friend, if she had been exposed to it for as long as Cheetah had her… “Cheetah! Where is this trap for Supergirl tell me now!” “I wasn’t suppose to know, but I saw Supergirl flying towards the Net Corp building just a little bit before I got the call it was okay to go after you.” She answered.
Wondergirl ordered the Cheetah to fall asleep. She then took her lasso off the villainess and bound Cheetah with the chains that had been used on her and called the cops. They would deal with Cheetah, she needed to find Supergirl and fast!
Supergirl was dying. Her breathing was labored, skin pale and heart rate erratic. Linda was being poisoned by the kryptonite nylons now used to bind her wrists together behind her back. Claire had used her lead lined tights to bind the Girl of Steel’s ankles together. Supergirl couldn’t move and was using all her strength to try and stay awake. Linda was convinced that if she closed her eyes they may never open again. So…weak…can’t stay…, Linda thought.
Claire looked on from her desk. Supergirl was as good as dead. The heroine was lying on the ground where she had landed an hour before. She was sure Supergirl would expire anytime now, she was just waiting for the kryptonain woman to turn green from the deadly radiation. So she worked on the latest numbers for Intergang’s counterfeiting operation that would begin tomorrow, safe in the knowledge that the city’s supergirls were finished. While typing in the latest numbers Claire was spun around in her chair.
“What the! Who…NO!” she screamed. Wondergirl stood right behind her. The organize crime villain was soon bound with the Amazon’s lasso. “All right you stay here, and don’t speak or move.” Wondergirl demanded. Drew than jogged over to where Linda laid. She saw Supergirl was passed out; she was bound at her hands and feet. She ripped the nylons apart and took the kryptonite one over to the far side of the room. Drew didn’t see any lead so distance would have to do.
“Supergirl, come one Supergirl it’s me wake up.” She pleaded. Drew lifted the powerless Maiden of Might up and laid her down on a couch. Wondergirl was feared the worse when, “Ohhhh…what…Wonder…you’re…okay.” “I’m fine, your not so good. Supergirl you need to tell me where some lead is, I’ll get the kryptonite in it but I need to know where it is?” Drew asked. “The…black…tights…lined in…lead…” Supergirl weakly replied.
Drew grabbed the black tights on the floor and headed over to where she stashed the kryptonite and shoved the deadly substance into the black tights. With no kryptonite radation about, Linda began to recover. “That’s better…feeling only sick not dead.” Supergirl weakly smiled. Drew smiled and walked over to Claire. “All right let’s have a little talk.”
Hours later the four Intergang bosses were seated for their meeting. Claire’s boss spoke first. “All right I don’t know what’s keeping her. She should have been here by now to tell us if Supergirl and Wondergirl were taken care of.” The second boss said, “What if she failed, and now were blown?” “Damn it will you relax!”, Claire’s boss yelled, “If those two bimbos knew we were here they would have should up.”
“You are right we would have.” The four bosses looked up and saw a blonde woman coming through the skylight above them. Supergirl hovered above the four guys while Wondergirl came through the door.
“You! You are supposed to be dead!” Claire’s boss screamed. “I’m bit like the energizer bunny; I just keep going and going.” Supergirl smiled. One of the bosses reached for a hand gun under his coat; before he knew it Supergirl had snatched the gun from his hand. “No, no, no we won’t be doing that.” Supergirl formed a fist around the gun a crushed the weapon in her hand. Besides Supergirl wasn’t fully healed yet from the kryptonite, she didn’t want to test her invulnerability. Drew wrapped the four king pins with her lasso and walked over towards Supergirl who landed on the ground. They exchanged a high five.
“Oh great captured by a couple of supercheerleaders.” One of them complained. “No, you were turned in by Claire Sanders. She just gave a full confession to the DA and the cops and FBI are arresting the know operations, were going to give them a hand in a minute. We just wanted to catch you guys first.” Wondergirl smiled. The two heroines were greeted a minute later by the Metropolis SWAT team. With the king pins under control the two superheroines took off to assist in another dozen arrests.
Next Morning…
Linda checked her temperature one last time, 100 degrees even, normal for her. She was taking it easy in bed. Her hour long exposure to kryptonite had nearly killed her, that wasn’t helped by the all night raids on Intergang. So she needed a little rest.
Drew was coming back in with some McDonalds. She tossed a couple of egg and cheese biscuits at Linda, “Thanks there for the food. I’m starving.” “Yeah you owe me for that.” Drew smiled. “Hey I’m a sick girl take some pity.” Linda joked. “No you were sick last night, now you’re better, no slack.” Drew flipped the TV on and watched the latest bit of news on Supergirl’s and Wondergirl’s exploits last night. “I here the DA wants to give each of use medals for helping break up Intergang.” Drew said through a mouth full of egg. “Well I’ll add it to my collection. First for you though.” Linda pointed out. “It will make Diana happy, she’ll be glad I being helpful, now about the 3.50 you owe me.”
